This work represents Banksias on Country, one of my favourite plants, and shares the story of their cultural significance. Banksias symbolise renewal, resilience, and a deep connection to the land, serving as both a source of food and medicine.

More than just a plant, the Banksia is a keeper of stories and a symbol of resilience. Each banksia cone holds the stories of fire, renewal, and the sacred cycle of life.

Women, the nurturers and protectors of Lore, hold deep knowledge of the healing properties within every plant, leaf, and flower-wisdom passed down through songlines and shared knowledge. Teaching jarjum (children) the importance of listening to Country, respecting its rhythms, and finding strength in Country.
